Shoes: A Final Project

My final project theme was shoes. The idea for this was inspired by a pair of shoes my aunt brought back form Abu Dhabi. Don’t worry you guys will get a chance to see what they look like tomorrow. Anywhow I would look at the shoes and make up little storys for them, then create an environment for that story, to shoot the shoes in.

Wow guys, looks like wordpress got a makeover.

I am so glad that this project has come to an end. It’s amazing all the hours and effort put into my book; I am proud of how my book looks, and can not wait until it comes in the mail. I ordered mine last thursday. I can not wait to see everyone else’s.

I am now done with everything well almost. I have ordered my book, have my notebook ready, and my synopsis for Jon is finished. The only thing I have to do is put my images in Jens drop-box tomorrow. If I do it from here it will take forever.

Well so long Jen (depending on if you read our blogs after the 10th) have a great winter, try not to hibernate.

PS remember how my ad (last final) from last year was stolen, and you said if I gave you the file you would have it reprinted? Well I finally remembered; I put a pdf version of it in your drop box.

PPS I saw the movie Changeling, and recommend it to the rest of you.

Progress

To show the progress that I have made click the link below; to my web gallery. I am expecting to shoot another pair or two tonight. The ones from my aunt. Tomorrow I should also be getting some more shoes to shoot from my sisters collection. So just remember that I have not done anything to these photos yet (well except for the B&W one. Well got to run, still need to do laundry, and start cleaning, then try to find time later to edit.

Final

I originally had two ideas for the final, but have decided to go with my second idea of shoes. I went in this direction instead of the other was because my ideas were getting to big, and complicated for the time allocated to us. This concept was inspired by a pair of shoes that my aunt brought back from Abu Dhabi (its in the UAE). So this weekend I will be searching for shoes and props. Below are some pictures that I like or there are aspects of them that I like.

Here are some photos I found interesting.

Nothing works

I am starting to believe that this whole environment assignment has some sort of vendetta against me. I’m sure you are all aware of what happened in my first encounter, through my previous posts. Once again I faced another problem; this morning I was to be photographing my sister, as a runner. Everything was setup, and had shot some test shoots. Once everything was how i wanted it I started shooting; thats when things went wrong, my strobe was not firing. So I only have like twelve pictures for all my efforts of setting up. I am not sure what is wrong with it, my first thoughts were that the bulb was dead, but then decided it was quite suspicious that either the strobe, or modeling light worked.

P.S. it was freaking freezing out, thought my fingers were going to fall off.

Web Gallery

So I do not know about you guys, but I am having problems with my web gallery. It uploaded fine, but when I try to go to the url my browser says that it is not found. Yes the spelling is correct. I am not sure what to do. Maybe it will find it tomorrow.

Just kidding, I figured it out. I was doing it from memory, and did mhccim.com/ettestad instead of mhccim.com/students/ettestad/ (wow I feel stupid).
